What does the name “Ronda” stand for?
The name Ronda is inspired by the word “round”, capturing the rhythm of the veterinary world: rotating shifts, constant movement, and the ongoing cycle of care. It's a metaphor for the dynamic, mobile life of locums and the coordination efforts of practice managers. From clinical rounds to scheduling and shift planning, Ronda reflects the shared pace and structure of the veterinary profession. At its core, Ronda symbolises connection, continuity, and community. These are the values that guide our mission to support both locums and practices.
Does Ronda belong to a corporate group?
No, Ronda is an independent, self-funded project. It was created by veterinary professionals who understand the real needs of both locums and practices.
Who can use Ronda?
Ronda is designed for UK-based veterinary professionals, including vets and nurses, as well as independent clinics and corporate practices looking to hire locums.
Is Ronda a recruitment agency?
No. Ronda is a platform, not a recruitment agency. We provide the tools for locums and practices to connect, communicate, negotiate, and build long-term working relationships without middlemen.
Are recruiters allowed to use the platform?
No, recruiters are not allowed to use the platform. The platform is designed to give control to practices and locums to work their way, without the need for a third party.
What makes the Ronda platform different?
We understand the concerns many practices and locums face. There’s always a risk of practices paying high fees without receiving real value, or of locums arriving at a practices where they aren’t treated fairly.
That’s why we built Ronda with one goal in mind: to foster trust and transparency between locums and practices. Our two way review system promotes accountability on both sides, helping build long-term relationships and a supportive, professional community.
What are the criteria of the two-way review system?
Both practices and locums can review each other using a 1–5 star system based on key professional criteria. - Practices can rate locums based on:
- Clinical ability
- Communication and professionalism
- Punctuality and reliability
- Team fit and adaptability
- Locums can rate practices based on:
- Organisation and preparation
- Team support and atmosphere
- Facilities and equipment
- Fairness of workload
This helps ensure transparency, accountability, and a better experience for everyone on the platform. When can practices and locums rate each other?
Both the practice and the locum can rate each other within 14 days after the placement ends. Reviews become visible as soon as both parties have submitted them or automatically after the 14-day window. This ensures a fair and transparent experience for everyone involved.
Does the platform facilitate negotiations?
Yes, there is a built-in negotiation tool that allows you to communicate directly with the practice to discuss and agree on shift details.
How secure is my data on Ronda?
Your privacy and data security are extremely important to us. Ronda is built using industry standard encryption and data protection protocols to keep your information safe. Only the minimum necessary details are shared with other users, and only once a placement is confirmed. We do not store any payment information on the platform and do not expect you to enter any. To ensure the highest level of security, identity checks for locums are handled and securely stored by Veriff, a trusted third-party provider specialising in identity verification.
