The piece was originally designed by Marcel Breuer for Gebruder Thonet in 1929. This particular piece is circa 1930s as evidenced by the aluminum frame. The design was one of the very first cantilevered chairs to make its debut during the Bauhaus period. Amazingly, it still retains its partial Thonet tag on the arm.
