No ID, but a second photo of a woman acquired with this daguerreotype had the name "Bergen" written inside the case. I researched the surname and discovered that this man looks a lot like a younger Teunis G. Bergen, who I had never heard of, but who was a well known New York politician. There is a lot of info on Bergen online for comparison, including a Brady photo of him taken later in life but since the
