Studies for the 'Trivulzio Monument' challenged The BALLOON over HELSBYE HILLStudies for the 'Trivulzio Monument', c1508 (1954). In 1508 Gian Giacomo Trivulzio, a Milanese aristocrat and military commander and governor of the city, commissioned Leonardo da Vinci to sculpt an equestrian statue for his tomb. Leonardo produced designs for the statue but it was never realised. Found in the collection of the Royal Library, Windsor Castle, Windsor. A print from Leonardo da Vinci by Ludwig H Heydenreich.
