View of the south east corner of Southwark Cathedral with workmen and wheelbarrows in the foreground. Southwark Cathedral was originally the priory church of St Mary Ovarie. In 1539, at the Reformation, the Priory was supressed and it became the parish church of St Saviour, Southwark. In 1897 St Saviour became Southwark Cathedral.
