Charles d'Amboise, Seigneur de Chaumont Size:M: 60 x 40cm 'Too Civil by Half'Charles d'Amboise, Seigneur de Chaumont, French soldier, 16th century (1882 1884). Charles (1473 1511) was Governor of Milan during the reign of Louis XII of France and a commander of the French armies during the War of the League of Cambrai, part of the Italian Wars. He was made a Marshal of France in 1504 and also served as Admiral of France from 1508 to 1510. He died from illness whilst on campaign at Correggio. A print from La France et les
