The winery was founded in 1842 when the renowned winemaker Robert Schlumberger moved to Vienna. Thanks to his years of experience at the illustrious Ruinart Champagne in Reims, he wanted to create an Austrian equivalent of the delicate Champagne from Northern France. Well, we can safely say he more than succeeded.
