The vines are planted on slate soils, giving the wine its name, Barrancos de Pizarre. The vineyards are located in Arrebatacapes, west of Madrid. It is one of the few places with slate soils, as granite predominates in this region. The vines are decades old and have developed a unique terroir on these soils, resulting in beautiful wines.
