1840’s-50’s Silk Gown gold filled locket two vertical darts for aThis beautiful gown dates from the late 1840s or possibly 1850. The wider bell sleeve began coming into fashion around this time after the very slim, tight fitting sleeves of the earlier 1840s. It is an incredible deep wine color silk taffeta with a slight color shift that is impossible to fully see in the photos. The sleeves are trimmed with fringe.
